Welcome to the USS Kumari NCC 61172

The Milky Way Galaxy is an ever changing place. In the last twenty years alone, the United Federation of Planets has had to contend with an invasion from the Borg, wars with the Cardassian Union, Klingon Empire and the Dominion. And more recently, the loss of Romulus and Remus, has changed the political landscape throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. While the Federation has always done its best to keep the peace, they are struggling in doing so with the Romulan Star Empire being so vulnerable right now. It doesn't help that the Klingons are more than eager to push the boundaries of their friendship with Starfleet in order to try and expand their territory.

In such dire times, it falls upon each and every member of Starfleet to help preserve the fragile peace. Not all of its forces lay out in the open though. There are always matters that require a more delicate touch. One of finesse. Since the end of the Dominion War, Starfleet Intelligence has been pouring many of its resources into rebuilding and recruitment. With both the Tal Shiar and the Obsidian Order just shades of their former selves, it became imperative for the intelligence branch of Starfleet to stand out and be the elite information gatherers that the quadrant needed.

As one might expect with the work that needed to be done under this new mandate, Starfleet Intelligence put more operatives and starships into service. One such vessel was the retrofitted Saber-class starship, U.S.S. Kumari. Although to some the Kumari might be considered a 'small ship', its upgraded rapid fire phaser cannons, quantum torpedo launchers and ablative hull armour demonstrate that it shouldn't be overlooked and that it can be a force to be reckoned with. Under the command of Commander Jack Colburn, the Kumari and its crew, operate in the shadows, doing what needs to be done for the safety and security of every man, woman and child.

The Kumari is looking for dedicated writers who want to be part of something a little different to the usual Star Trek sim.

If you feel you have what it takes then please join the fun!

As you are all aware, Kumari is without an Executive Officer. Most of you, however, don't know the circumstances behind this. I started this Sim with JP and another friend, Coop, who was going to play my first officer. Sadly, we lost Coop to cancer last year.

We both had high hopes for this little Sim and I am doing my best to do just that. JP has helped me a long the way but never wanted a command position aboard the Kumari (due to having his own responsibilities with his own commands) I sorta forced the position of Second Officer upon him and when Coop passed away he has acted as my temporary First Officer.

Due to JP's other commitments he would like to take a step back after this mission is over. I would like to thank JP for his hard work and efforts since the Kumari was started last year. It means a lot to have had his help.

I've been reluctant to look for a first officer due to obvious circumstances but now have come to the conclusion that to help Kumari grow as a Sim, I will need support.

I've had two members of the sim approach me about the First Officer position. Both are very capable and having spoken to them they will become part of the Sims new Command Team.

Katy, who plays Lieutenant Mirok, will start writing another character who will be Kumari's new First Officer and Greg, who plays Lieutenant T'Rhe, will become Second Officer.

Both will take on their new positions from the start of the next mission.

I hope you will all join me in wishing them both luck in their new positions.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who has make Kumari a successful little ship. I'm very proud of what we have accomplished over the past six months since Kumari started. I know things have moved a little slower than usual over this festive period but things will be back on track in the new year.

I'll be getting to my tags (on all my sims as I play with most of you on other ships as well) on Tuesday. Please don't feel you need to reply to them, unless you want to, until the New Year.

I hope you all have a great time with family and friends over this time.

Ok folks, now that we've officially left space dock, I thought I'd give you a little heads up on what's coming up.

(Pre Mission) PM days will be still in effect until we reach Klingon space. This is due to the amount of 'real time' it would actually take to get to Klingon space. MD1 will commence when we enter Klingon space.

PM days 5-8: Feel free to post during this time. I know there's a few posts being worked on during this time frame. Please do not post past these days until MD1 has gone out.

MD 1: We cross the boarder into Klingon Space, I'll probably start a JP with everyone over the weekend to work on this.

MD 2: The fun begins ;)

MD 4: We reach Ty'Gokor.

This isn't set in stone but it's an idea of the direction we're heading.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on the OCC post, PM or Email.

T'Rhe was, unusually, nervous. Admittedly, it was just three other female crewmembers coming for dinner, plus Jonathan, but it still bothered her for some odd reason.

Speaking of her adopted son, she saw him coming out of the bathroom, dressed for dinner. "Good--you're out in time to help. Would you…
